Coronavirus Germany News on January 21, 2021: Over 1,000 Deaths and 20,000 Infections

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announces the number of new coronavirus infections and deaths for Germany. The number of deaths remains alarmingly high.

 

In Germany, a total of 20,398 new infections with the corona virus were recorded within one day. As the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced on Thursday morning, citing information from the health authorities, 1013 new deaths were recorded within 24 hours.

 

The  RKI has counted 2,088,400 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 in Germany since the beginning of the pandemic (as of January 21, 00:00). The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher since many corona infections are not detected. The total number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 49,783. The RKI stated the number of people recovered as around 1,762,200.
