The whole world is facing an unprecedented health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There are more than 102 million cases of coronavirus worldwide and 2.2 million deaths. Discover the developments in the world concerning the coronavirus epidemic this Friday, January 29, 2021. The rectal test is now mandatory to return to China. Faced with the variants, Germany plans to close its airspace. In Lebanon, the people are demonstrating against the extension of confinement. Israel has recorded  631,226 cases in total since the start of the pandemic, including  2,331 in the last 24 hours and  4,671 deaths (+64). The country, which has already vaccinated more than 2 million inhabitants, or 25% of the population, hopes to become  "the first country to emerge from the crisis." 2,849,425 people have already received the first dose of the vaccine. Israel is suspending all inbound and outbound flights to limit the spread of variants. Israel is expanding its vaccination campaign to young people aged 16 to 18. Faced with variants, the country closes its air and land borders.

The number of new cases is rising in  China, which reports  48 new infections with Covid-19 24 hours. The country counts  89,378  in total and  4,636 (+0) dead this Friday, January 29, 2021. This Tuesday, January 26, 2021, the country records its second death since May 17, 2020. 22,767,000 people have received the first injection of vaccine in the country. China suspends Air France flights between Paris and Tianjin after cases of Covid-19. The rectal screening test, considered more reliable, is now mandatory to return to China. 

In France, the health authorities' latest report concerning the COVID-19 pandemic shows at least  3,130,629  cases of infection in total,  including at least 23,770 in the last 24 hours. This Thursday, January 28, 2021,  348  deaths in 24 hours or 74,804 in total. The number of EHPAD and EMS deaths shows a total of  22,238 deaths.  The total number of deaths in hospitals is  52,566 (+348 in 24 hours). 1,231,783 people have been vaccinated in France.

Lebanon imposes a total containment from Thursday, January 14, 2021. Any output is prohibited; the Lebanese can not even go shopping. The country has recorded a total of  293,157 cases of the infection since the start of the pandemic, including  3,497 in the last 24 hours and  2,621 (+68) deaths linked to the coronavirus. The people are demonstrating in the street against the extension of the confinement.

In the  United Kingdom, there are  28,680 new cases in 24 hours, a new record since the start of the pandemic, with  3,743,734 cases in total since the start of the epidemic. The country recorded this  Thursday, January 28, 2021, 1,239 deaths in 24 hours or  103,126 deaths in total. The British variant could be more deadly, according to Boris Johnson. While many Britons are reluctant to get tested for losing out of being unable to work, London is considering paying 500 pounds (€ 560) to each positive person. 7,164,387 people received the first injection of vaccine. The United Kingdom is the first country in Europe to cross the 100,000 death mark. Boris Johnson hopes for "a reopening of schools from March 8".

Portugal is confined for the second time for at least 1 month from this Friday, January 15, 2021, and all non-food businesses close their doors. The country records  303 deaths in 24 hours this  Thursday, January 28, 2021, bringing the total to  11,608 deaths since the start of the pandemic and  16,432 new cases in 24 hours 685,383 confirmed cases. 296,004 people were vaccinated. Hospitals are on the verge of saturation. The country is closing its schools and plans to shift the school calendar to penalize students for whom no distance education is scheduled. Faced with the variants, Portugal barricaded itself and prohibited "non-essential" travel abroad.

In  Brazil, the number of new infections remains very high,  56,059 in  24 hours. The country recorded this  Friday, January 29,  1,378 deaths in 24 hours and declared  9,061,639 cases in total and  221,707 deaths. Brazil is canceling its traditional Carnival scheduled for February 13-16, 2021. Thousands of Brazilian demonstrators marched in parades of cars last Saturday to protest against Bolsonaro's management of the epidemic. 1,129,885 people received a first injection of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In the  United States, the number of new cases every day is still skyrocketing. It now stands at  176,748 infections identified in the last 24 hours. This  Friday, January 29, 2021, the country has  26,338,555 cases. The number of deaths today is  4,445 deaths in 24 hours or  443,769 deaths in total. After the Pfizer and  BioNTech vaccine,  Moderna's vaccine is also authorized in the United States. Joe Biden will restore entry restrictions to the USA. 20,698,606 people received a first injection of the COVID-19 vaccine. Joe Biden hopes the country will achieve collective immunity sometime in the summer of 2021. 

In  Canada, there are  4,877 new cases in 24 hours out of a   total of 766,090, a new record since the start of the pandemic, and  19,664  deaths, including  131 since yesterday. Faced with an upsurge in cases, Quebec has decreed general confinement of 4 weeks with a curfew since January 9, 2021.  903,664  people have received the first dose of the vaccine.

There are  2,775 new infection cases in Belgium in 24 hours, making 702,437  cases this  Friday, January 29, 2021. There have been  49 new deaths in the last 24 hours, which is now  20,982 deaths in total. Belgium is banning all non-essential travel abroad, including to Europe, for February. 243,412 people received a first injection of the vaccine.

In  Germany, the number of new cases is exploding (+ 14.95 "  in 24 hours). The country has this  Friday, January 29, 2,199,904 cases identified for  56,457 deaths (+861).  The closure of bars, restaurants, places of cultural and sporting leisure initially scheduled for November 2 to 30 is extended until February 14, 2021, and could last until April 2021. The country is toughening up its measures, including the closure of schools and non-essential businesses or wearing a medical mask compulsory in transport and reinforcement of teleworking  1,738,236 people received the first vaccine injection.

In  India, the curve of cases of infection continues to decline steadily. India lists, this Friday , January 29 ,  10,720,902 confirmed cases  (+ 18,940  in 24 hours) and  154,047 deaths , including  162 in 24 hours . India will produce nearly 100 million doses of the Russian vaccine  Sputnik V  and urgently authorizes the new AstraZeneca vaccine.  India is launching its mass vaccination campaign and vaccinating  2,355,979 people in 24 hours.

In  Mexico, the epidemic is still progressing, with  988 deaths recorded in 24 hours. The country has  2,003,225 (+18,050 since the day before)  cases and  166,314 deaths in total. Mexico has overtaken Spain, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom in the number of deaths. It is the fourth most bereaved country in the world, behind Brazil and the United States. 624,730  received the first dose of the vaccine.

Zimbabwe returned to confinement again for the next 30 days this Sunday, January 3, 2021. The country recorded  32,646 cases of coronavirus, 342 in the last 24 hours, and records  1,160 deaths in total since the beginning of the pandemic, with  38 yesterday. 

The epidemic is developing in  Africa, and the number of new cases of infection and deaths in 24 hours is exploding. In  South Africa , there are  1,437,798  ( +7,150 ) cases recorded this  Friday, January 29, 2021  and  43,105  (+555) dead. In South Africa, a new variant of the more "worrying" and "transmissible" virus has been discovered. South Africa hopes for the first vaccines in February and wants to vaccinate 67% of its population in 2021. The country closes its land borders for a month to limit the spread of its variant.

South Korea accounts this  Friday, 29  January,  469 new infections and  77,395  cases for  1,399 deaths  ( 13  in 24). Faced with a third wave even more violent than the previous ones, the country is strengthening the country's rules of distancing. In the capital,  Seoul, the ban on gatherings of more than 4 people is extended. The national vaccination campaign is expected to start in February.

Poland  currently has  1,496,665  (+ 6,629 ) cases of infection and  36,443  (+ 350 ) deaths due to Covid-19. Poland announced a new series of restrictions against the new coronavirus. Since  December 28, 2020, the country has entered partial confinement,  notably with the closure of cinemas and most stores in shopping malls and a total switch to distance education. 858,474  people received the first dose of the vaccine.
